Tame was good, tame was fine. The closeness was somehow enjoyable for the loner, and he suspected, perhaps, that he'd gone solo for too long. The stress built up in his stomach, the grown-up and too-serious version of butterflies that more closely resembled a knot, but the tension started to melt out of his body as he lazily looped his arms around her lower back.

He knew he should leave. He knew he should walk away. He just didn't want to. The way he returned her kiss grew a little bolder, as if to announce that he wasn't going anywhere.
